Unfortunately the Los Cabos Amputee open has been cancelled this year.
As some of you know, we've had a terrible drought in Los Cabos over the last two years. Querencia depended entirely on yearly rainfall for our irrigation and we've been essentially w/o rain during this period. It became so bad by Spring, that the management decided to curtail watering the course, with the exception of the greens....
It was a very dry summer, and the course suffered. In October, we secured a secondary water source, and began watering the course. The course has come back nicely, but will not be in the kind of condition that this event demands. I didn't want our entrants to incur the expense of travel to Los Cabos, only to be disappointed in the course condition.
The good news is that there is a new water treatment plant which will open in the May/June time frame which will solve the problem over the long term... Unfortunately though it won't be ready to improve the course condition this year...
Many thanks for all the support that the players have shown us over the last two years of our event. Our hope is that we can revisit holding the tournament in coming years....

3rd ANNUAL LOS CABOS AMPUTEE OPEN
We're pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Los Cabos Amputee Open. Response to the 2011 event was better than we could have hoped for, both on the part of the participants, and all of our Querencia members. This became one of the most popular events of Querencia's season, and we're excited to be planning it again for 2012.
The tournament will be held at the prestigious Querencia Golf Club, one of Los Cabos' only private country clubs. Designed by the world renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio, Querencia was recently voted by Golf Week magazine the Number One course in Mexico, and one of the top 50 courses in North America. We're delighted to announce that Mobilize Mankind (501c3) will again be our designated charity. MM is involved in supplying much needed orthopedic and prosthetic equipment for residents of Baja Califiornia Sur, improving the quality of life for children and adults with limited resources...
