TOURNAMENT DESCRIPTION

The tournament will be contested by amputees, and also Querencia members and friends over three days of competition. There will be a practice day preceding the tournament. The first two days of tournament play will be the "Querencia Amputee/Normie Best Ball Challenge", with it's own winning team. ("Normie" is the colloquial term given by the amputee community to people having all four limbs!) The last day will be for amputees only, with all three days of play deciding the amputee winners... There will be a Welcome Cocktail Party, snacks and bevereages provided on the course, as well as after each round, and an Awards Dinner the last night.

 

TOURNAMENT VENUE

Known since 2000 as Cabo’s first private golf club, Querencia is nestled between rugged desert mountains and the sparkling Sea of Cortez. The Location

With its sweeping ocean views, Querencia is located in “The Golden Corridor,” a 21-mile stretch of oceanfront land between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. A short 15-minute drive from the Los Cabos airport makes Querencia a perfect year-round destination for a quick weekend escape or long term stay.

Golf

Querencia’s heart and soul is the Tom Fazio-designed course known as Cabo’s first private member’s golf club. The cliff-top 320-acre masterpiece which offers a 12-acre practice facility with 11 target greens, putting green and expansive short game practice areas was officially inaugurated by Sergio Garcia and Phil Mickelson during a Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf match in February 2001.

Clubhouse

The 58,000-square-foot clubhouse features multiple dining venues with five-star fare, an elegant wine cellar, infinity pool, Jacuzzi, lap pool and waterfall, a family-oriented Club Village complex featuring fitness center, 25-meter lap pool, separate Kids’ Club and pool, lighted tennis courts, Yoga pavilion with group and private exercise curricula and full service spa with massage, hair and skin care facilities.

Accessibility

The San Jose del Cabo International Airport receives more than 150 flights per week. Several airlines run regular flights to Los Cabos, including American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Alaska Airlines, American West, Mexicana, Aeromexico,, Delta Airlines, Frontier and United Airlines. Travelers coming from the East Coast of the United States can make connections in Atlanta, Dallas and Houston. Travelers coming from the West Coast can fly direct from Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle. Other options include Chicago, Denver and Las Vegas. Los Cabos is about 2 ½ hours from Los Angeles, Phoenix, Houston, Dallas and Mexico City.
